I know first-hand the importance of creating spaces that acknowledge and actively fight against discrimination on the basis of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, disability, and religion (or lack thereof).
I acknowledge the existence of racism, discrimination, and bias in our society, and how our systems are built to the detriment of people of color, minority ethnic groups, and diverse sexual and gender identities, among others.
I am committed to being an agent for change in my practice, community, and society. I am in the process of understanding what that means and how best I can be a part of the change.
I commit to:
- Educate myself on how best I can serve misrepresented and underrepresented communities through my work.
- Work and build projects with people from these communities, in an effort to include all perspectives.
- Seek out people within these communities to be contributors, clients, interns, and collaborators in my projects.
- Amplify the voices of those who have been misrepresented or underrepresented in my industry.
